Meet the Team Behind Queenstown.kiwi

Your local guide to the adventure capital of New Zealand.

Kia ora, thanks for stopping by! Queenstown.kiwi is built by a Kiwi who fell in love with the Southern Lakes region after years of chasing adventures around the globe. From bungy jumping off the Kawarau Bridge to quiet mornings watching mist lift off Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown has a way of pulling you back. We created this guide to share what makes the adventure capital truly special—beyond the brochures.

These days you'll find us exploring the trails around Ben Lomond, sampling pinot noir in the Gibbston Valley, braving jet-boat rides with the kids, or tracking down the best flat white with a lake view. We road-test activities where we can, asking the questions that matter: is it worth the drive? Will the kids love it? Is there a decent pie shop nearby? Then we share the experiences that pass the test.

Your Southern Lakes Field Guide

Queenstown.kiwi is our personal field guide turned public resource. You'll get:

  • Firsthand insights into hikes, scenic spots, and family-friendly adventures we've genuinely tried.
  • Honest tips on parking, peak-season crowds, weather windows, and where to find the best après-adventure food.
  • Curated tours and experiences we'd recommend to visiting friends, many of which help support local operators through our Viator partnership.

Whether you're a Queenstown local scouting a new weekend trail or a traveller planning your first Milford Sound cruise, we hope the site feels like tips from a mate who knows every lookout and hidden waterfall in the region. If you spot us on the Routeburn or at a lakeside café, come say hi—there's always room for more mountain stories.

See you on the water (or the track),
Jack & whānau
