Full-day bike or e-bike ride from Arrowtown through the Arrow River Bridges Trail to Gibbston Valley, with winery stops and return shuttle from Queenstown.

Tour Overview

Begin with a shuttle from Queenstown to Arrowtown, where you’ll be fitted with your bike or e-bike, helmet, and the trail information you need for the day. There’s time to look around historic Arrowtown or stop for a coffee before setting off toward the Gibbston River Trail.

The ride starts on the Arrow River Bridges Trail, following a willow-lined route through the Arrow and Kawarau gorges. You’ll cross a few bridges, including the Kawarau Suspension Bridge, known as the home of the world’s first commercial bungy jump. From here, continue at your own pace along roughly 25 km of undulating gravel trail through the Gibbston Wine Region.

This is a flexible full-day ride, with time to stop where you like for tastings or food. Along the way you can visit cellar doors, breweries, or a tavern, including Gibbston Valley Winery, where you can also join a tour of New Zealand’s largest wine cave. Mt Rosa sits at the end of the valley, and there is also a relocated 1894 church in Gibbston that now serves local wines.

At the far end of the valley, the trail offers quiet spots to pause before your shuttle collects you from your chosen winery in Gibbston Valley.
