The ride follows easy trails with minimal hills, wide gravel sections, rivers, bridges, and open alpine scenery. Standard bikes are 2024 Trek Marlin 6 pedal bikes, with premium e-bikes available and recommended for most riders. The route is designed to be straightforward to navigate, making it a relaxed option for riders who want to combine cycling with winery stops.

Along the way, you can visit cellar doors including Gibbston Valley, where a Wine Cave tour includes three tastings, Rockburn, Kinross, where platters are available, and Mount Rosa, where wine is served by the fire. Tastings and food are additional, and bookings are recommended in peak season.

You are free to finish at any winery on the route, then join the 4.00 pm pick up from the wineries for the return to Queenstown, arriving by 5.00 pm. Over seven hours, this tour brings together Arrowtown heritage, a well graded bike trail, and time to explore Gibbston’s wine stops at your own pace.
