Clay Target Shooting in Queenstown

Head to the Oxbow Gun Club for a clay target shooting session set on a custom-designed compact sporting field. The layout uses eight automatic clay target throwers to suit a range of abilities, including a run-away rabbit target that skims across the ground. If you want to step things up, there is also the option of a 25 or 50 Bird Flurry.

This experience is designed for singles and groups of all sizes, with one-on-one guidance from an experienced instructor throughout the session. Whether you are trying clay bird shooting for the first time or already have experience, the format is straightforward and well structured, with clear instruction and time on the stand.

Safety is a core part of the experience at Oxbow Gun Club. Before shooting begins, you will take part in a thorough safety briefing and gun safety demonstration. Shotguns and protective gear are provided, including earmuffs, glasses, and a shooting vest, so you can arrive ready to focus on the session itself.

The stand accommodates six shooters per session, with each person in their own stand and safety barriers in place for safe operation at all times. It is a practical, well-run activity that combines instruction, competition, and a varied target setup in one setting.
