Tour Overview

Travel from Te Anau to Milford Sound in a small group of no more than 15, following the Milford Road through the centre of Fiordland National Park. Along the way, your local driver guide shares stories and practical insight about the area, with regular stops so you can take in the changing landscape rather than just pass through it.

This full day trip combines time on the road, on the water, and on foot. In Milford Sound, board a small boat for a 2 hour cruise that travels the length of the fiord and continues out to the Tasman Sea. The smaller vessel allows for excellent viewing opportunities, with time to watch waterfalls spilling from the cliffs, rainforest meeting the water’s edge, and mountains rising around the fiord. Wildlife may also be seen during the cruise, including dolphins.

The journey also includes a series of short guided walks and scenic stops in Fiordland. Even brief walks reveal a lot here, from lush forest to alpine areas shaped by ancient glaciers. Your guide adjusts the day to suit the weather and seasonal conditions, helping you get the most from this World Heritage area. Important Information

What to Bring - we recommend comfortable walking shoes, day pack containing a warm top, waterproof jacket, drinking water, and camera. On cool days you may also like to bring warm hat and gloves, which can be used on the boat cruise or while walking. We Provide - a professional driver/guide, all transport from Te Anau with walking and photo opportunities. Plus a Milford Sound small boat cruise and packed lunch (any dietary requirements must be advised prior to the day of travel for catering).
