Half-day canyoning in Gibbston Valley with guide, equipment and Queenstown transfers. Small groups, no experience needed; water confidence required.

Tour Overview

Set in Gibbston Valley, this half day canyoning trip takes you into a rugged section of wine country that most visitors would never reach alone. With a guide leading the way, you will move through sculpted rock, waterfalls and mossy gorges, using a mix of climbing, abseiling, swimming, sliding and exploring to make your way downstream.

No previous canyoning experience is required, making this a strong option for travellers who want an active outdoor challenge without needing technical skills beforehand. You will need water confidence, English speaking ability, and a medium level of fitness, as the tour involves up to two hours in a wetsuit while walking, climbing and moving through uneven terrain.

Groups are kept small, with a maximum of 10 people, which helps keep the pace manageable and the guidance personal. All equipment is included, so you can focus on the experience itself rather than bringing specialist gear.

If you are staying in town, Queenstown transfers are included. The 9am departure also comes with a lunch voucher, adding a practical extra to the day. For those short on time but still keen to get into the landscape around Queenstown and Gibbston Valley, this tour offers a direct, physical and well-supported adventure.
