Half-day tour from Queenstown to Walter Peak with a Lake Whakatipu cruise, guided horse trek, afternoon tea, and views of the Remarkables.

Tour Overview

Travel from Queenstown across Lake Whakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm on a 3.5 hour half day tour that combines a lake cruise, a guided horse trek, and country-style afternoon tea. Depending on the time of year, the crossing is on the TSS Earnslaw Steamship or the Spirit of Queenstown vessel, with wide views over Lake Whakatipu and the surrounding Remarkables mountains.

At Walter Peak, begin with tea served with freshly baked scones and cakes before heading out to ride. No previous horseback riding experience is needed. Helmets and waterproof jackets are provided, and experienced guides lead the small group at a relaxed pace.

From the farm, follow winding trails through rolling terraces and pastures on a peninsular route to a scenic lookout. Along the way, there are open views back across Lake Whakatipu toward the distant peaks. After the ride, return to Walter Peak and board your cruise back to Queenstown.

Round-trip boat travel from Queenstown and safety equipment are included. Please arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled departure to check in.
