Two-hour Milford Sound catamaran cruise to the Tasman Sea, passing Mitre Peak and Stirling Falls, with close-up waterfall views and possible seal sightings.

Tour Overview

Step aboard a three deck catamaran for a two hour Milford Sound cruise that travels the full length of the fiord to the Tasman Sea, then returns along the opposite side. From the water, the scale of this glacier carved landscape becomes clear, with towering mountains, sheer cliffs and hanging valleys rising directly from the fiord.

The boat stays close to the edges of Milford Sound, giving you a closer view of waterfalls dropping from ancient rainforest high in the mountains. Along the way, you’ll pass Bowen Falls, Mitre Peak, Copper Point, Fairy Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Dale Point, Seal Rock and Stirling Falls. The skipper and crew share local knowledge throughout the journey, helping bring the features of the fiord into context.

There is plenty of space to take in the surroundings at your own pace, with indoor seating, an open sun deck and a covered rear deck. Near Stirling Falls, the crew joins guests on the foredeck as the bow moves in close enough to feel the spray.

Keep an eye out for New Zealand fur seal colonies, and occasionally dolphins swimming nearby. On board, the Café Bar offers hot and cold snacks, along with local wine or beer if you want to settle in and watch the landscape unfold.
