Day cruise in Milford Sound with RealNZ, viewing glacier-carved cliffs from the water. Check in 30 minutes before departure; paid parking available.
See Milford Sound from the water on a day cruise with RealNZ, where glacier-carved cliffs rise straight from the dark surface of the sound. Travelling by boat gives you time to take in the scale of the landscape at a steady pace, with clear views across the water and plenty of chances to pause and look closely.
This Milford Sound cruise focuses on the setting itself, with the boat journey offering a direct way to experience the cliffs and the changing light on the water. It is a simple, grounded way to spend time in one of New Zealand’s most recognised natural areas, without rushing past the details.
Please note that this service may operate on several different vessels. If you would like more information about the vessel operating on your departure, contact the supplier directly.
Plan to check in 30 minutes before departure. Check-in closes 15 minutes before departure, and gates close 5 minutes prior. Paid parking is available, as set by Milford Sound Tourism LTD.

Piopiotahi Milford Sound is one of the world's most spectacular environments, and it comes with natural hazard risk. A large earthquake or tsunami is extremely unlikely during your visit, especially a short one. Even so, these hazards do pose a risk to life, and once you are there, your options to stay safe are limited. What to do: If an earthquake feels LONG or STRONG, Get GONE. Move up and away from waterways (the fiord and rivers) as quickly as possible. If you see or hear a landslide, do the same.
