Tour Overview

This Queenstown to Milford Sound day trip combines a scenic flight, a full length cruise, and a return flight on a different route. Before departure, there is a weather check one hour prior to flight time. If conditions are suitable, pickup from your hotel is available shortly after the call, or you can choose to self drive to the hangar.

After check in, you’ll board one of the aircraft, with a window seat for every passenger. The 40 minute flight from Queenstown passes over the mountains, lakes and fiords of Fiordland National Park. On arrival at Milford Sound, you’ll transfer to the boat for a two hour cruise that travels the length of the fiord out to the Tasman Sea. A picnic lunch is available if ordered in advance and is provided as you board.

The return flight to Queenstown follows a different path, with views over Fiordland National Park and the Southern Alps. At the end of the tour, a complimentary transfer is provided back to your accommodation.

This is a straightforward way to experience Milford Sound from Queenstown, combining time in the air with time on the water and covering both the fiord itself and the wider Fiordland landscape.

    Milford Sound

    You will partake in a weather check an hour before the departure flight time. Flights are subject to weather conditions, if the weather is suitable you will be picked up from your hotel approximately 5-minutes after the call. You can opt to self-drive to the hangar as well if you’d like. Once checked in at the office you will depart on one of the aircrafts where everyone gets a window seat. The flight is a 40-minute scenic flight with majestic views of the mountains, lakes and fiords of the Fiordland National Park.

    Mitre Peak Cruises

    Upon reaching Milford Sound you will be taken to meet the boat cruise, a two hour full length cruise of Milford Sound. If you order our Picnic Lunch option you will be given this as you board the boat.
