Tour Overview

See Milford Sound from both the air and the water on this 4 hour helicopter and cruise trip from Queenstown. Flying with Over The Top Helicopters, you travel with your pilot as a personal guide, heading south over the snow capped Southern Alps before landing at Milford Sound.

After the helicopter shuts down, you board the cruise boat for a journey through Milford Sound at sea level. From the water, the landscape changes again, with rainforest covered slopes rising from the fiord and waterfalls dropping down the rock faces. Your pilot escorts you throughout the journey, creating a smooth connection between the flight and cruise.

When the cruise returns to Milford Sound, you reboard the helicopter for the flight back to Queenstown. The return includes a second landing at a remote alpine location, accessible only by helicopter. With the aircraft shut down, there is time to stand in the quiet surroundings and take in the stillness before continuing on.

This tour includes two landings, Milford Sound and an alpine landing, and combines a scenic helicopter flight, a cruise, and time on the ground in two very different environments.

    Milford Sound

    Experience Milford Sound from the air and sea. Over The Top Helicopters are pleased to offer a scenic helicopter flight to Milford Sound to join a cruise boat. Escorted throughout the journey by your pilot, together you will board the cruise boat to take one of the most memorable journeys you can imagine down Milford Sound, taking in the rainforest covered slopes and the majestic waterfalls from sea level. On return to Milford airport, board the helicopter for yet more amazing scenery from the air, together with a landing on a remote alpine location, accessible only by helicopter. With the helicopter shut down, take in the serenity of the quiet location for some photographs before starting up again for the return journey back to Queenstown
