Scenic flight from Queenstown to Aoraki Mt. Cook village with about five hours on the ground, plus views of Lake Pukaki, Tasman Glacier and Lindis Pass.

Tour Overview

See the South Island from the air on a scenic flight from Queenstown to Aoraki Mt. Cook village, with time on the ground to explore before returning by a different route. From your window seat, the flight tracks north with wide views over Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea, then across to Lake Pukaki. You will also see the summit ridge of Mt. Cook, the Tasman Glacier, and, on the West Coast, Franz and Fox Glaciers.

After landing at Aoraki/Mt. Cook Airport on the outskirts of Mt. Cook Village, you have approximately five hours to discover Aoraki Mt. Cook village at your own pace. Lunch is at The Hermitage Hotel, and there is time to visit the Sir Edmund Hillary Centre.

If you want to stretch your legs, the Hooker Valley Track is a popular short walk within Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. The track is 10 kilometres long, with only about 100 metres of elevation gain, making it accessible to a wide range of fitness levels.

The return flight to Queenstown follows a different path, giving you another perspective on the landscape, including the tussock-covered Lindis Pass. This tour combines a scenic flight with free time in Aoraki Mt. Cook village, so you can balance time in the air with time on the ground.

Check-in time is 30 minutes prior to departure at our desk inside the main building. Queenstown Airport Terminal Parking A is the closest parking to our check-in and costs a maximum of $20 for the day. For the closest free on-street parking please head to Douglas Street or McBride Street.
