Private day tour from Queenstown to Aoraki/Mount Cook with stops at Lindis Pass, Tasman Glacier viewpoint, Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo.

Tour Overview

This private tour from Queenstown focuses on Aoraki/Mount Cook, New Zealand’s tallest peak, with time to take in the landscapes, lakes, and mountain history that define this part of the South Island.

Along the way, stop at Roaring Meg Lookout for views over the turquoise Kawarau River, then continue through Lindis Pass, where tussock-covered hills, rugged terrain, and snow-capped peaks shape the route. At High Country Salmon, you can feed the fish and sample fresh salmon before heading on toward Mount Cook.

Lunch is served at a hotel positioned for views of the Mount Cook Glaciers. From Mount Cook village, the main gateway to Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, the area opens up into a landscape tied to mountaineering history, including Sir Edmund Hillary’s early climbing development. The tour also includes time at the Tasman Glacier viewpoint, reached by an easy one-hour walk, where the glacier sits in the distance behind a lake.

You will also visit Lake Pukaki, known for its turquoise colour created by fine glacial silt, and Lake Tekapo, where key landmarks include the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Sheepdog Memorial. After a full day exploring Aoraki/Mount Cook, Tasman Glacier, and these alpine lakes, the journey concludes with drop-off back in Queenstown.
