Spend the afternoon exploring Gibbston, Queenstown’s neighbouring wine region, on this professionally run Classic Wine Tour. Running daily from 1.30pm to 5pm, the tour focuses on Central Otago wines and introduces Gibbston, also known as the Valley of Vines, through guided tastings and commentary from a passionate wine guide.

You will visit three unique cellar doors and taste a range of local wines, with time to learn how this pioneering region developed from just a couple of rows of vines into a recognised Pinot Noir producer. One of the highlights is a guided tour and wine tasting inside New Zealand’s largest wine cave, offering a distinctive setting that sets this experience apart from a standard tasting.

Along the way, the drive includes views of the glacial-coloured river and the suspension bridge used by AJ Hackett for bungy, with the chance to spot someone jumping as you pass. These glimpses of the wider Gibbston area add context to the wine region without taking focus away from the tastings.
