Half-day cruise on Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm, with a farm tour, dog show, morning or afternoon tea, gardens and return cruise.

Tour Overview

Begin with a cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm, travelling aboard the vintage TSS Earnslaw or, during the scheduled maintenance period from 19 May to 1 October 2025, the Spirit of Queenstown. The lake crossing sets the tone for a relaxed half day, with clear views across the water before you arrive at the working high country station.

At Walter Peak High Country Farm, a rural host welcomes you ashore for a guided visit around the farm. You’ll have time to meet the animals that live here, including sheep, alpacas, cattle and working farm dogs, and see a live farm show focused on the role of the dogs in day to day farm life. Commentary from the guides adds context as you move around the grounds, keeping the experience informative as well as easygoing.

The visit also includes a classic country morning or afternoon tea, with homemade scones and tea served at the farm. Afterward, you can wander the gardens at your own pace and spend more time with the animals before the return cruise across Lake Wakatipu.

Please arrive 20 minutes before departure to check in.
