Tandem paragliding from Coronet Peak includes a town shuttle, safety briefing and gentle valley-floor landing, with views over the Wakatipu valley.

Tour Overview

Check in at the Skytrek desk 30 minutes before your booked time, then take the courtesy shuttle from town to the launch point on Coronet Peak. The drive takes around 20 minutes. Once there, you will be fitted with a helmet and harness, and your pilot will talk you through the briefing before take-off.

This tandem flight departs from New Zealand's highest commercial take-off point, with highly experienced pilots guiding the experience from start to finish. No previous experience is needed, so the focus is on settling in and taking in the view as you leave the ground.

In the air, the flight opens up wide views over the Wakatipu valley and the surrounding landscape. The sensation is quiet and weightless, more like gliding than dropping, with your pilot handling the flight while you watch the terrain unfold below.

The landing is gentle and takes place on the valley floor. After a quick pack-up, transport is provided back into town, making the whole experience straightforward from check-in to return.

What To Expect

Check-in to the Skytrek desk 30 minutes before your booked time. Our courtesy shuttle will drive you from town for a quick 20 minutes to our launch point on Coronet Peak. After putting on a helmet and harness, your pilot will give you a briefing and then it's launch time. Enjoy soaring like an eagle and taking in the pristine surrounds over-looking the Wakatipu valley. Landing is gentle and takes place on the valley floor. After a quick pack-up, we'll take you back into town.
