Cruise from Lake Te Anau into the South Fiord, with tea and coffee on board, a guided 15 minute walk at Hidden Lakes wharf, and afternoon tea.

Tour Overview

Board at the historic wharf on the edge of Lake Te Anau, where the crew welcomes you with a safety briefing and an outline of the cruise. Once underway, tea and coffee are served as you settle in, explore the ship, and watch the shoreline give way to the entrance of the South Fiord.

The cruise is designed to move at an easy pace, with time to chat with the crew or simply sit quietly and take in the lake. As you enter the South Fiord, the scenery changes around you, with clear views across the water and regular opportunities to stop and look more closely at the landscape.

At Hidden Lakes wharf, a nature guide leads a 15 minute walk along a leafy track to the first of the Hidden Lakes. The walk is easy, with no hills, and comfortable footwear is recommended. Back on board the Faith, afternoon tea and refreshments are served while the engine is turned off, giving you time to listen to the natural sounds around you.

On the return cruise out of the South Fiord, the crew may raise the sails if the wind allows. With Te Anau ahead, the trip ends as it began, calmly, with the crew accompanying you back down the wharf to shore.
