Return cruise from Queenstown across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak for lunch at Colonel’s Homestead, a farm show and lakeside gardens.

Tour Overview

Cruise from Queenstown Bay across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm, choosing either the 1912 TSS Earnslaw Steamship or the modern Spirit of Queenstown Catamaran. Please note that the TSS Earnslaw is scheduled for maintenance from 19 May to 1 October 2025.

At Walter Peak, lunch is served at the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant in a lakeside setting. The menu features food and wine from the wider Central Otago region, with chefs preparing meats on the outdoor grill and rotisserie while seasonal salads and vegetables are available inside. Vegetarian diners are also catered for. Dessert includes sweet treats, and local cheeses are part of the offering.

After lunch, stay for a farm demonstration led by the rural demonstrator, who shares an insight into life in the New Zealand high country. The show includes working sheep dogs and a sheep shearing demonstration. If you prefer a quieter pace, you can also explore the lakeside gardens before boarding your return cruise.
