Wildwire Wanaka- Level 1 (2 Hours)

Take on the highest waterfall cable climb in the world on this introductory Level 1 via ferrata, set on a private working deer farm in the mountains, 20 minutes from Wanaka. Designed for beginners, families and hesitant adventurers with basic fitness, this climb offers a clear step into vertical terrain without requiring previous experience.

Your tour begins at the waterfall, where your guide fits your safety gear and shows you how to use the equipment before you start. From there, you climb steel ladder rungs fixed to the rock and cross four wire bridges as you make your way upward. The route includes around 45 minutes of physical climbing, with guides alongside you throughout.

As you gain height, the mountain setting opens up around you and the views continue to build. The climb finishes at a picnic spot, giving you a chance to pause before walking back down a mountain trail to the base.

This Level 1 option is a practical introduction to via ferrata for anyone comfortable climbing a ladder and ready to try something active outdoors.
